Description

The Possum Pouch lays flat when empty, so it’s basically a free lunch. There when you need it, zero compromises when you don’t. Day in day out, it’s just a tummy protector, but if you need more ammo it’s an instant solution to pack three more mags without having to rearrange your rig.

It’s also shockingly comfortable! In fact, it INCREASES comfort–all else being equal–because it gets the additional mags closer to your body, improving load distribution and dramatically reducing the rig’s tendency to want to shift around while carrying a heavy loadout. It also keeps your expander wings from digging into your ribs by replacing the standoff usually created by the armor plate (mags tend to be about the same thickness as most plates).

Are they difficult to replace while wearing the chest rig? Yes. However, the assumption in this use case is that you’ll have faster access pouches on the front of your placard and/or on your belt, and you’ll be moving mags from the Possum Pouch to replenish those (and placing partials in your dump pouch). The important thing is they’re very easy to extract.
