Description
The minFAK (minimalist first aid kit) is designed to package the most essential life-saving first aid supplies in the smallest possible footprint, for low visibility operations, as well as streamlining for long range applications.
The minFAK is the same size and shape as a 556 magazine, meaning it can go in just about any magazine pouch or pocket, which makes it hands down the most versatile IFAK on the market. It can be easily transferred from your full loadout to your minimalist chest rig to your battle belt to your uniform pants, or even just throw it in your jeans back pocket. This is especially useful for situations where you might have to leave your loadout behind; you can simply throw this in your pocket.
Another advantage is this doesn’t monopolize space on your loadout. Normal IFAKs take up three columns of MOLLE, which is over two mags worth of real estate that can’t be used for anything else without removing pouches. If you need more ammo for a mission, you can simply remove this from your loadout, throw it in your uniform thigh pocket, and put an additional mag in its place. That’s the kind of versatility you get from having an IFAK that uses standard mag pouches.
As for the contents, we’ve prioritized chest seals, combat gauze, and an airway because those are absolute game changers for rendering first aid in the field. Those are the things that absolutely cannot be improvised in the field that are absolutely going to be the difference between life and death.
